Catherine Curtis (MSc : NMMU, PE) received the GSSA Jubilee Medal Award for 2011, for her paper entitled “Geochemistry of the Early Cretaceous Koegel Fontein Anorogenic Igneous Complex, South Africa”, published in the South African Journal of Geology (2011, vol. 114, no. 3-4, pp. 353-378). The paper has been judged as being the best paper in Volume 114, which is of particular merit and worthy of recognition. The Society believes that it represents a noteworthy contribution to the geology of southern Africa. The award was presented at the Society’s Annual Fellows Dinner on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, held at the Johannesburg Country Club, Woodmead Campus, Johannesburg.
