Inkaba.org’s mandate is to promote Inkaba yeAfrica, and the geosciences in general, in South Africa.
The organisation was set up to effect communication with government and industry, thereby establishing continuity, visibility and a two-way transfer of ideas and recommendations.
We consider this a must when managing a large project under conditions of perpetually changing economic and political boundary conditions.
Inkaba.org was established in February 2007.
In a nutshell:
• Sponsored by GFZ-Potsdam
• Located at HartRAO (Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory), an NRF Facility
• Liaison between government and Inkaba science coordinators
• Dovetail Inkaba scientific programme with changing national needs
• Geoscience materials for teachers and educators, etc.
On the German side, Dr Robert Trumbull is Inkaba’s programme representative.
